Career Decisions

In today's competitive market, it is increasingly challenging to make the right career choice. Young adults need all the help they can get to prepare for the workforce. Year 11 and 12 subjects need to be chosen carefully because they can determine tertiary education and career options.

The problem is that many students do not find out what they are suited to until they have wasted considerable time, energy and money taking the wrong path. This is why Jarrah Consulting developed "Infront"

Provided by a professional team of consultants experienced in organisational psychology, Infront is a complete support system designed to assess and develop potential career objectives and then provide students with the back-up and encouragement they need to achieve their goals. Infront is particularly relevant for Year 10 students planning subjects for Years 11 and 12, however it is also beneficial at any stage when your son or daughter is considering their future career options, even if they are already undertaking tertiary education.

The Infront system begins with a thorough assessment of the student's abilities, aptitudes and personal qualities. Suggestions for future study and career development are presented at a personal counselling session.

Infront provides counselling together with an Infront kit containing a wealth of information on study tips, choosing a career, personal development and life after school.

It is the most comprehensive program of this type available. Already trialled in a number of schools across Adelaide, Infront has met with strong approval from parents and students.

How Infront Works

Stage 1:
Students complete a systematic assessment using GENESYS, a software based psychological assessment system, to identify their natural talents, potential and personal qualities.

Student interviews with an Infront consultant cover school/academic history, aspirations, personal values, general concerns and additional background information.

Stage 2:
A feedback and counselling session presents recommendations and suggestions drawn from Stage 1.

No recommendations are made that are not within the scope of the student's capabilities and personal attributes. This session includes an outline of future study and career development needs and presentation of the Infront kit. Parents are encouraged to attend this session.

Stage 3:
A detailed written report is sent home. Students will then have access to support from their Infront consultant.
